TITLE: PHP Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Technology

REPORTS TO: SVP Technology

This position is responsible for the development and delivery of technical aspects of assigned projects. This includes working with a team of developers assigned to a project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement project design, standards and processes using industry standard best practice guidelines
• Assist in identifying technology requirements for current and new projects to meet operational and performance requirements of the project
• Develop and document specifications for software architecture and modeling
• Develop and document deployment specifications for deployment teams
• Develop and document the project architecture
• Create and maintain technical project documentation
• Write clean, documented, reusable and scalable code for deployment to web, mobile, and consumer devices.
• Assist the Senior Technical Lead and Software Project Manager in developing project schedules, plans, task assignments, task definitions and time estimates
• Develop code to established processes, standards and conventions
• Execute team standards for debugging and unit testing code modules
• Optimize code and software architecture for exceptional performance and scalability
• Regularly communicate complete project status to project stakeholders
• Actively contribute towards advancing the state of internal and public projects
• Engage in research and development activities during down time

REQUIRED SKILLS

• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent education and/or experience
• 2+ years working experience designing and building applications with languages such as PHP, Java, C, C++, C#
• 2+ years experience with LAMP(HP)
• 2+ years experience with Apache
• 2+ years experience with and a strong understanding of Linux
• 2+ years experience with MySQL
• 2+ years experience with XHTML/XML/CSS
• 2+ years experience with Javascript
• Excellent understanding of object oriented design and programming
• Excellent understanding of nuts and bolts of all things Internet
• Experience with a revision control system
• Exceptional creative problem-solving ability
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, client-services environment
