For nearly 40 years, James has been deeply involved in the entertainment and technology communities as an attorney, business executive, and a producer of entertainment projects for existing and emerging media. Most recently, James served as SVP of Sony Corporation of America, with responsibility for all intellectual property activities for Sony Corporation in North and South America, including all patent prosecution, intellectual property litigation and licensing. Simultaneously, he served as President and CEO of Sony Dynamic Digital Sound (SDDS) which became the industry leader under his direction. Earlier in his career, James served as the President of MCA Video Games and enjoyed a 21-year term at MCA (Universal) where he was eventually named President of several of its operating divisions. During this tenure, James negotiated and managed four separate joint ventures with companies such as IBM, Pioneer Electronics, Thorn-EMI and Royal Philips Electronics.

James graduated from UCLA with BA and JD degrees and Pepperdine University with an MBA.
